1. How do I book a seat in a class?
You must be signed in to FLUENCY1st.CLUB register for a class. Once signed in, click the “BOOK THIS CLASS” button on the class page, and fill in the form. If you are not registered, please register here:
2. How do I pay?
Once you have filled in the form to book your seat in the class, you will be sent to a payment form to pay for the class by credit card; your seat in the class is reserved once you complete payment. If you do not complete payment within fifteen minutes of registering for a class, you will lose your reservation.
3. Are all the classes in Japanese?
At present, all classes are taught in Japanese by Japanese native speakers.
4. What kind of Japanese level do I need?
The point of the classes is to learn, so you don’t need an advanced level – beginner and intermediate levels should do fine, even with a lot of hand waving! However, you have never studied before or not interested in learning, this is not the right situation for you.
5. Can I bring a friend – to help or for support?
Due to space restrictions, at this time only those registered in a class can attend the class.
6. Where are the classes located?
At present, our classes are centred around Tokyo, but include Yokohama, Chiba and Saitama. You will be shown the closest train station and general area before registering for any class; the address, a map and detailed directions will be provided after your seat booking is confirmed.
7. What do I need to bring to class?
In most cases, the teachers will provide everything; if anything is necessary, it will be shown in the class description before you book a seat in a class.
8. Can I cancel?
To protect you against errors in registration or scheduling, you have 24 hours to cancel from the time you pay to confirm your booking (provided your confirmation payment is more than 24 hours before the start of class). You will receive a full refund.
After 24 hours from your confirmation payment or if your confirmation payment is within 24 hours of the start of class, cancellations and refunds are unfortunately not possible – so please confirm your schedule and that you are booked in the class you want!
9. What if my class is cancelled?
If your class is cancelled before it begins, you will receive a full refund. If a class is cancelled part way through, refunds will be determined by FLUENCY1st.COM on a case by case basis.
10. How can I become a teacher?
You must be a native Japanese speaker and your classes must not held in Japanese, but also related to Japanese culture. Please contact our Japan Coordinator via Facebook for more information.
